The latest from the Boss
I caught up with the boss briefly on Monday and got his thoughts on the week ahead:
"It's ironic that our four wide players are all out injured at the moment, Jack Oberstellar, Dean Moxey, Neil Saunders and Chris Shephard will miss this weeks games. I am looking to the squad to get 70 minutes each in the two midweek games, that's a little bit more than last week, as we build up their fitness levels. They will be two excellent games, obvioulsy I am looking forward to the visit of my old club, Team Bath have some decent players, Sean Canham has been on trial at Charlton Athletic but I think he might play in our game. I think it will be a very good game.Tiverton Town have shown some superb pre-season form, beating Torquay United and Weston-Super-Mare and losing by a single goal against Plymouth. I'm sure we will take a decent following to Ladysmead, there is always a good welcome there. I'm sure they will want to put one over on us.
I was pleased with how the Cornish tour went, it is always satisfying to see the forwards hitting goals and again we had good support. The Portsmouth game saw us play some very neat passing football and all the players can hold their heads high because I think we matched Pompey in most areas and Rob took his goal very well. We are still looking at two or three trialists, Jamie Bishop did well in his three appearances and we have invited Billy Franks and Michael Clark back again. All three should feature this week.I am still looking to bring in a young defender or two just to balance things up a bit.
